Cancellation Policy

Plans change — we get it. Here's exactly what happens if you need to cancel or reschedule your Komodo Cruises voyage.

This Cancellation Policy applies to all bookings made with Komodo Cruises, operated by PT Komodo Cruises Indonesia. It supplements our Terms & Conditions — in case of conflict, the Terms govern. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to bookings@komodocruises.com.

01How to Cancel

To cancel a booking, send a written request to bookings@komodocruises.com including your booking reference number, full name, and departure date. Cancellations made by phone or social media are not valid until confirmed in writing by our team.

Your cancellation is effective from the date we acknowledge receipt — not the date you sent the message. We aim to acknowledge all requests within 2 business days.

02Refund Tiers

Refunds are calculated based on the number of calendar days between our acknowledgement of your cancellation and your scheduled departure date:

Processing fees are capped at 3% of the total booking value or the actual fee charged by the payment provider, whichever is lower.

03Refund Processing

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 business days of confirmation. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take an additional 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

Refunds for bank-transfer payments (BCA or other Indonesian banks) are processed via domestic transfer and may take up to 21 business days.

We do not issue refunds in cash or to third-party accounts.

04Rebooking & Credits

Where a rebooking option is available (see the tier table above), you may transfer your booking value to a new departure date. Rebookings are subject to:

  • Availability on the requested date and vessel.
  • Any price difference between the original and new cruise — if the new trip costs more, you pay the difference; if it costs less, the balance is held as credit.
  • A single rebooking per original booking. Second changes are treated as a new cancellation.

Booking credits are non-transferable and expire on the date specified in your rebooking confirmation.

05Group Bookings

For group bookings (6 or more guests), the refund tiers above apply to the group as a whole. Individual guests within a group booking cannot cancel independently unless the lead booker authorises it in writing.

If partial cancellation reduces the group below the minimum size for the booked vessel, the remaining guests may be offered an alternative vessel or itinerary at an adjusted rate.

06No-Shows

If you fail to board on the scheduled departure date without prior written cancellation, this is treated as a no-show. No-shows are not eligible for any refund or rebooking credit.

Late arrivals (after the vessel has departed) are also treated as no-shows. We strongly recommend arriving at the departure point at least 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

07Cancellation by Operator

Komodo Cruises reserves the right to cancel a voyage due to adverse weather, safety concerns, government directives, or insufficient bookings. In such cases:

  • You will receive a full refund, including any processing fees, or
  • You may choose to rebook to an alternative date at no additional cost.

We will notify you as early as possible — typically at least 7 days before departure — and work with you to find the best alternative.

08Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for cancellations caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, volcanic eruptions, political instability, or port closures mandated by Indonesian authorities.

In force majeure situations, we will offer a full booking credit valid for 18 months or, where operationally feasible, a refund minus unrecoverable third-party costs (such as pre-paid park permits).
